Case Studies

The consultancy company contacted us as they had recently grown in size and were now looking at how better to collaborate with each other. They were also were moving into new premises.

It was identified that there was a need not just for email, shared contacts and calendars etc but also file sharing and remote access so that employees and external sub contractors could share tasks efficiently on their client’s projects.

Earlsbourne initially worked alongside the office fitters and installed structured CAT5e cabling system to provide network connectivity for the computer network and the telephone system. A suitable broadband provider was identified and information passed to the business owner as to which package was most suitable for their needs. This was duly ordered direct by the customer.

Earlsbourne installed a new Microsoft Small Business server and installed a number of new PC’s, Printers etc. A suitable router/firewall and Antivirus package was installed on the server and client computers to secure the network. Email was then migrated from their old POP3 mail system and groups, calendars etc setup on the new Exchange system. Planning and care was taken throughout the project ensuring absolute minimum downtime and disruption during the changeover making sure that the customer’s requirements were met by the new system.

Earlsbourne were contacted and initially asked to provide some help with a virus outbreak by the ‘IT Support Manager’ we duly went to their premises and assisted with the removal. The customer was specifically after a specialist for supporting SAP Business one and Earlsbourne had the right staff for the job. Having previous experience of migrating software from Great Plains to SAP Business one along with hands on upgrading projects moving from version 2005 to 8.8 this really put Earlsbourne in a great position. The costs for an SAP specialist meant the IT reseller made huge savings using Earlsbourne for their IT support rather than having to get expensive project managers in for on-going development of all their systems.

Support is always on hand as Earlsbourne are here all day without taking 4 weeks paid holiday per year which would happen if they were to employ full time. We have already made many considerable cost savings for their existing systems and hope we can continue to do so for many years to come.
